Aug 25, 2019 · i also have a gp-5 gas mask but with a modern tan filter. the old green filters to contain high amounts of blue abestos and charcoal. it is best that you dont wear the filter at all. instead buy a modern tan filter. also, a good test to mske sure that your filter isnt leaking is to get a white peice of paper, but the nozzle ofyour filter above it and shake it. if any specks or liquids fall out
